Hello everyone and welcome to Memorial Day Monday Mashup 5-29-17. I hope that everyone had a great weekend – especially since it was a long one. Did you have plans for Memorial Day 2017? My plan was a laid back backyard cookout 🍔 🍻🌭with a prolonged period of porch swinging and grandkid loving.
Speaking of grandkids…..
The Elf and Babydiva
Memorial Day 2017
Except for the Bangkok branch coming home to Little Rock for a few weeks (it literally feels like I can’t wait), there’s not much happening this summer. Pottery class is finished until the next session and Babydiva’s last school day was last Friday, so I’m looking forward to a little winding down time.
Hurts So Good!
One thing that’s been going on, with no plans whatsoever for a break, is my exercise routine. I’ve become a Zumba and yoga geek. I joined the LR Athletic Club in January – cliche, right??- and am slowly but surely getting back into shape after, let’s see, oh, about a five year hiatus. It feels really good to get moving. I for sure won’t get the body back I had at 20, 30 or even 40, but my 50 year old body is definitely within reach! 🏋️♀️🏋️♀️🏋️♀️
Here’s a look at my newest mixed media project –
Tim Holtz Spray Ink – Postbox red, lemon zest
Dot stencil w/ ghosting
Tim Holtz stamp – Evolution
ColorBox Archival dye in Wicked Black
I wasn’t too taken with this project at first, but I kept working on it and by the time I was finished, I liked it a lot. I suppose the moral of this story is to not abandon a project, take a break if you need one, but keep on keeping on. You might be pleasantly surprised when it’s finished. It happens to me all. the. time.
