Hello! and welcome to this Monday’s blog post – Monday Mashup 2-27-17. Is it just me or is time really picking up speed, with weeks that seem to be finished nearly before they get started? I swear, Friday rolls around almost before I can get Monday wrapped up. THEY always said that the older you get, the quicker time seems to go. THEY must have been right. Don’t ask me who THEY are because I honestly can’t tell you, but I’ve heard the old time flies bit all my life. I think it may be due, at least in part, to my upcoming milestone birthday, the big six-oh. At the moment, I’m waffling between embracing my soon to be 60 years 😊😊😊and wanting to hide away somewhere with my blankie over my head, mumbling and rocking.😱😱😱
No time for that – Monday is usually a busy day for me, with morning Mass, then Zumba, followed by yoga, home to shower and change, and then to the pottery studio for class. Yeah, you don’t have to rock me to sleep on Monday nights.😴 If this sounds like work … it isn’t…not by a long shot. It feels so good to be working out again. I can already tell a difference – I’m not huffing and puffing to get up stairs and the yoga has really improved my balance and flexibility in the two months that I’ve been practicing.
I’ve been spending more time on my art journals lately also. I so enjoy playing with my inks and paints and I’m making a conscious effort to not be so perfectionistic, an attitude that does nothing but make me unhappy. Here’s something that I’ve been working on –
Acrylic paint, Tim Holtz stencils, vintage dictionary page, Copic markers, doodles, Dylusions spray inks
I’m not good at faces, but in keeping with my war against my perfectionistic tendencies, I gave it a whirl and for now, it’s good enough.
