Hey everyone and welcome to Friday Follies 10-21-16, Kiss and MakeUp, New Stuff! I hope you enjoy reading this post as much as I enjoyed writing it!
BACK ON TRACK
Cloud Chaser and I have kissed and made up, but only after frogging to the completed sweater back. Hopefully this time around will work. I think my mistake originally was to have started the increase to shape the armholes on the wrong end – the pattern reads “At the end of the next RS row, increase one stitch”. I suspect I put the increase at the beginning of the row, when I was a zombie due to jet lag. I’m keeping my fingers crossed!
The first thing you need to know is that Mr. Iknead and I don’t tend to buy big ticket items often. When we do take the plunge, we keep and use the item until it falls apart. Put this on top of our hatred of furniture shopping, when we do replace something, it’s a big deal. We also have a pretty strict rule that we have to agree on whatever choice we are considering – we find that this prevents the fingerpointing and muttering under our breath when something hasn’t quite lived up to our expectations. For example, we shopped for a new couch for ten years(!) before finding one that we both could agree on. Anyhow, look at what we just bought!
Love my new chair!
We replaced the couch with a chair and a half, freeing up more space in the family room.
They’ve been a long time coming!
I HEAR BELLS
A friend of mine has invited me to be a part of a handbell choir that he directs and I think I’m going to take him up on it. I’ve rung bells off and on for years and the rehearsal schedule he’s made up works well for me, I’m planning on going to the rehearsal this evening. There has always been some sort of music in my life, usually singing in a choir and ringing handbells. That’s sort of fallen by the wayside over the past few years and I find I really miss being a part. So, I’m excited to get back into it!
Sometimes when I consider what tremendous consequences come from little things I am tempted to think there are no little things. Bruce Barton
