Friday Follies 9/29/16

Hi ya’ll and welcome to Friday Follies 9/29/16.  Enjoy your visit!

I’m pretty much right smack in the middle of my Bangkok visit, helping out with the new baby, who I’ve nicknamed Peaches.  She has that super soft baby skin with just enough peach fuzz to make kisses irresistable.  So, Peaches it is.

Our Peaches

If you visit my blog with any regularity, you’ll remember me mentioning a yarn shop very close to the hospital; close as in about half a block away, across the street.  Well, I finally had the opportunity to visit while Big Mommy was otherwise engaged (think nice warm shower), with a nurse in attendence.  So, I grabbed my shoes and credit card and beat feet to the Big Knit Yarn Shop and Cafe and made out like a bandit.  I literally could not stop smiling and petting all the lovely fiber.  Isn’t it amazing how, even though I don’t speak Thai, knitspeak is universal and communication problems were pretty much nonexistent.  Here’s the rundown on my haul –

There are two of everything because…..well, just because.  I loved having so much cotton sock yarn to choose from and I’ve never thought about a region’s climate dictating what fibers are stocked, but it makes sense that cotton is preferable to wool when the average temperature in Bangkok is around 90 degrees F. 😎🌞🌡 There weren’t any familiar to me labels and the store operated differently than what I’m used to – it was more of a show room – they had yarns laid out and when you made your selection, they brought them out to you.  I’m going back Monday.🙂🙂🙂

I’m linking with Home Matters today, I hope you’ll pay them a visit.
