This is the most luscious yarn I’ve had in my hot little hands in a good while – you know the type – you just can’t keep your hands off it and keep stopping what you’re doing to pay it a quick visit to pet it for a minute. 😋 Love me some alpaca! This is the Yarnbox December selection and it’s HUGE — 600 yards! Maybe I’ll knit a cowl… or a scarf… or a small wrappy thing… or maybe I’ll just admire it and pet it every now and then…
OUT OF THE KILN
Here’s one of the things that I love about pottery glazes: they’re always a little unpredictable. Something that I feel like I totally messed up at the glazing table can knock my socks off when it’s finished firing. Here’s an example:
Dillo White Clay
Rutile Blue total dip with Glossy White drips on rim and inside
Thrown at Arkansas Art Center Pottery Studio
I intended to just drip Glossy White on the rim over a total dip of Rutile Blue, but I got in a hurry, was way heavy handed with the drips and was too lazy to scrub and start over. I think it turned out to be a pretty pot in spite of my impatience.
I’m obsessed. The only reason I’m blogging now instead of reading is because I read my Nook’s battery flat and it’s recharging and I audiobooked my phone’s battery flat and it’s also on the charger. What can I say? I’m obsessed and I’m thinking I need an octopus to round out the family. Seriously.
TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK
I’m going to run the Flash Your Finishes Friday link up on a week to week basis until I’ve decided what I want to do. So, this week it’s on.
