I just finished Flash, by Rachel Ann Ridge and if you’re a pushover for an animal story like I am, you’re going to love this book. I also finished Hannah Nordhaus’ American Ghost and Reaching Down the Rabbit Hole, by Dr. Allan H. Ropper and Brian David Burrell. The Rabbit Hole was especially intriguing, I’m also a sucker for books with a medical bent. As usual, my book choices are all over the place; I’m an equal opportunity reader, I guess.
This is just one of a bag of old matchbooks that Mr. iknead’s mom gave me a few weeks ago. They were given to her by a family friend who, apparently, loved Las Vegas and collected them. I think they date from the 1950s and 60s, a lot of them have old, old school phone numbers, starting with the first two letters of a name, followed by five numbers, for example, DUdley 4-4321. Man, I AM getting old. I remember using numbers like that! Very glamorous and Madmen-esque!
