THE DOCUMENTED LIFE PROJECT
I’ve not been spending as much time at my art desk as I’d like, with the way summer seemed to just get busier and busier as it went on. The Documented Life sort of fell by the wayside for sure, but I’m hoping to get a little more caught up every week. Here’s a look at my most recent mixed media project –
This challenge was “Take Me Away”.
Ephemera including interesting old envelopes and
mailing labels, Distress Stamps, stickers, washi tape
And dollar bin doodads
IN THE SEWING ROOM
I’ve been head over heels in love with linen this summer and have been fortunate enough to have been in the right place at the right time, getting most of it half price or less. This newest project used a really really nice bit of mauvey/browny/pinky that I ran across at Hancock Fabric. The pattern was Simplicity 2184, variation C.
ON MY NEEDLES
My Basic Sock Pattern
Knitpicks Comfy Fingering
Lilac and Peapod
I ran across this yarn at Hobby Lobby.
Yarn Bee Brushworks
80/20% acrylic and alpaca
I’m normally a terrible yarn snob, but this is so soft and squishy I decided to give it a try. It may become one big pilly mess after a couple of washes, but for $5.49 for 262 yards….
The Purl Soho Pullover in progress
Here’s the more accurate photo of the Kelly Socks I promised last week.
