On the 9 to 5 Rewind sock front, not yet. I’m through the heel turn and burning up the gusset. It could be just under the wire as an FO, it could happen, but at the time of this post, it’s still in the land of WIPs.
I did do some baking this week. What is it about cold and snowy weather that makes me want to bake and bake and bake? I made whoopie pies, or as we call them here in the south, moon pies. I got the recipe from a cookbook I found on the bargain book aisle at my local Barnes and Noble. I love bargain books. Because of the bargain book aisle, I sometimes don’t get any further than 20 or 30 feet inside the front door. Anyhow, this little book, Whoopie Pies by Sarah Billingsley and Amy Treadwell, is especially nice because it’s mix and match. Pick your little cake, then pick your filling, sweet and/or savory. My favorite is the classic chocolate with marshmallow filling, but since I had no marshmallow fluff, the filling was my second favorite, cream cheese. Mine are never, ever, as pretty as the ones pictured, but they’re recognizable and taste like a little piece of heaven! I managed to snap a picture, for once.
